If the media and newspapers are to be believed the Akita-Inu is a vicious bear killing dog far too dangerous to live in harmony with a family with children. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Akita Inu, like us has moved on. An Akita Inu puppy is like a new baby in the family. The puppy is the raw materiel the adult akita is what you make it into by your training and leadership.
Back in history we humans lived in caves and walked on all fours. We have progressed as has the Akita-Inu .Hopefully the photographs on this page will emphasise this. So all you bears out there RELAX.
As with any breed of dog it is strongly advised that Akitas whether puppy or adult should not be left alone with any small children.
